Male-to-Female transsexualism

Estimates suggest India has around 1.5 to 2 million transgender.Recent health data from a south Indian tertiary care clinic shows that 58.7% of trans women and 4.7% of trans men had undergone sex reversal surgery , with over half of the community undergoing hormone therapy. 

Typically, transexual individuals persistently feel an incongruity between theri anatomical sex and gender identity – being trapped in the wrong body. 

SRS or Gender reassignment surgery is a much sought after treatment option of these individuals. Transsexual surgery is not  cure for this disorder but is only a procedure that many forster a sense of emotional well-being recently.
